Frank Lohmann

Frank Lohmann is a building science engineer and certified journeyman carpenter and cabinetmaker who has worked in the housing sector for over 35 years. He began his career in the trades in Germany before moving into building science and code development. Frank spent 23 years at the National Research Council Canada, contributing to research on building envelope systems and the development of the National Construction Codes.

Since joining the Canadian Home Builders’ Association in 2020, Frank has led the association’s work on building science, codes, and standards, ensuring that builders’ and renovators’ perspectives are well represented. As Interim CEO, he brings deep technical expertise, policy experience, and a strong commitment to advancing CHBA’s mission and supporting its members.
