Lana McIver is the visionary creative design director and founder of a highly successful, award-winning design firm with over 30 years of experience. As the driving force behind IDG, she seamlessly blends her extensive knowledge of interior design, architecture, and construction, creating stunning, tailored spaces for both residential and commercial clients. Lana’s expertise spans a diverse range of projects, including private homes, multi-family residences, luxury yachts, ski chalets, hotels, restaurants, dental offices, and retirement communities.
With a sharp eye for colour, coordination, and detail, Lana's approach is intuitive and emotion-driven, ensuring every project reflects a unique and personal touch. She emphasizes the integration of architecture and interior design, resulting in fresh, cohesive, and expertly executed spaces. Under Lana’s leadership, IDG has become synonymous with innovation, quality, and professional excellence in the design industry.
Lana's commitment to her craft extends beyond her work at IDG. She is a dedicated leader in the design community, serving as the Treasurer and Co-Chair of the National Education Committee for the Decorators and Designers Association of Canada (DDA). She is also an active member of several industry organizations, including the Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA), the Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA), and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Lana is deeply involved in giving back to her community. She serves on the VIU Foundation Board, chairs the Festival of Trees, and has contributed to organizations such as the Nanaimo Hockey League Association and Aspengrove School. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, travelling, skiing, boating, fitness, and weekends at the lake or Mt. Washington.
